Facilitating At-Risk Student Learning

This course is designed to be offered asynchronous.  It has also has been established as an interactive, developmental learning experience into the understanding of and skills necessary for facilitating the learning of at-risk students. Participant outcomes include:

A comprehensive overview of the at-risk student
A working understanding of the steps of The Relationship to Learning Continuum
Utilization of the Essential Skills and Essential Behaviors charts
Utilization of the Essential ‘Soft Skills’ Competencies charts
Framework for development of classroom activities for each of the nine steps of The Relationship to Learning Continuum
The course is divided into eight sections:
           1) Overview of the at-risk student
           2)  At-risk student narratives
           3)  Overview of The Relationship to Learning Continuum
           4)  9 steps of The Relationship to Learning Continuum
Essential Classroom Skills and Behaviors
Essential ‘Soft Skill’ Competencies
Instructional Implications
Course Review
The course is $532 and 3 semester hours of GRADUATE level credit are available through Ashland University, a fully accredited institution.

Exciting news!!!!!! CEA Peer Literacy Tutor Training tops 3000
The CEA Peer Literacy initiative approaches 3,000 inmate peer tutors trained in Ohio since its inception in July 2007. Staff in Louisiana have recently been trained and already have 300 inmate peer tutors in just one year. Over 50 tutor trainers have been trained in Ohio and Louisiana. CEA will soon launch training in several new states.  Brochure (PDF)
