Austin MacCormick is widely recognized as a leader in the field of corrections and the use of education as a rehabilitative tool. Austin MacCormick served as a president of the American Correctional Association. He founded CEA in 1930 which became an independent organization in 1945.

Exciting news! CEA Peer Literacy Tutor Training passes 5000
The CEA Peer Literacy initiative passes 5000 inmate peer tutors trained in Ohio and Louisiana since its inception in July 2007. CEA will soon launch training in several new states.  Brochure (PDF)
