Conflict Resolution

Utilizing the book, Conflict Resolution, by Daniel Dana, participants will learn the principles of conflict resolution applicable to any conflict.  The course readings will immerse participants in the theory, approaches, and practices of conflict resolution and mediation through both explanations and case studies.   Participants will be guided in extending the skills and strategies for conflict resolution to their classrooms or work places. 

Objectives for this course include:

Examining present theory and application of conflict resolution
Improved conflict resolution facilitation

Understanding of cultural, racial, and ethnic dynamics within conflict
Improved skills in change management
Expanded understanding of negotiation
Skill development in communication within conflict and communication within resolution


The course is $178 and 1 semester hour of GRADUATE level credit is available through Ashland University, a fully accredited institution.

The CEA Peer Literacy initiative passes 5000 inmate peer tutors trained in Ohio and Louisiana since its inception in July 2007. CEA will soon launch training in several new states.  Brochure (PDF)
